In Windows 7 x64 / TC8.0 beta 17a x64.
1) Create a shortcut of TC, and in its properties, set Run > Minimized
2) Launch TC via shortcut
3) Maximize TC.
Result :

Sorry, cannot reproduce, Windows 7 x64 here too!
Does it happen also with a fresh wincmd.ini? Just start TC with command
c:\totalcmd\totalcmd64.exe /i=c:\totalcmd\test.ini _________________ Author of Total Commander

Hello, DjobyDjoba.
I followed your instructions. Yet, I cannot reproduce the problem, either. So, unless it is something special on your machine which causes the dsiplay problem, there must be one more setting which is involved.
Just an idea, have not tried whether it matters: have you switched off the T.C. splashscreen? (I have not.)
Total Commander 8.0ß17a 64-bit
Windows Home Premium SP1 64-bit
Kind regards,

Hello karlchen,
Yes, you're right, I've set StartupScreen=0 in Wincmd.ini.
From a clean install, set :
- StartupScreen=0
- Maximize TC and Configuration > Save position
- "Show tab header also when there is only one tab" enabled
and start TC minimized, and maximize it.
Thanks. |

The bugfix has been confirmed for T.C. 8.0 beta 18. So it should not be fixed. It has been. => Fixed bug, I'd guess.
Hm, the thread starter has not bothered to confirm. Umbra has done so. Oh, well... _________________ Enlightened by Lucid Lynx, enchanted by Maya Mint, productive on Precise Pangolin's Minty Sister. |

Can you confirm the bugfix too? I'm moving threads to the fixed bugs section either if
1. The thread starter confirmed the fix, or
2. At least two other users confirmed it, or
3. One user confirmed it and it's a very obvious fix _________________ Author of Total Commander

Hello, Christian.
I cannot really confirm the fix. Sorry. The reason is pretty trivial:
I have not managed to reproduce the bug using Total Commander 8.0ß17 64-bit on Server 2008 R2.
And I have followed these steps:
- StartupScreen=0
- Maximize TC and Configuration > Save position
- "Show tab header also when there is only one tab" enabled
Without having reproduced the bug the fact that the problem cannot be observed in Total Commander 8.0ß20 64-bit on Server 2008 R2 does not really prove much.
Is there any other detail which I may not be aware of that I need to change in order to reproduce the reported problem on T.C. 8.0ß17 x64? E.g. does it only happen on Windows 7 64-bit with Aero theme? (In this case testing on Server 2008 R2 will be a waste of time.)
Kind regards,
