[TC 8.0 RC2] Wrong text-size in config (color) dialog

Post by *MaxX »

Just this:
x32: http://iceimg.com/i/ce/5b/d6d06cf9ea.png
x64: http://iceimg.com/i/5a/f7/b87596e9f6.png
As I guess, that (in x64) should be a feature which shows real font text to be displayed in TC. But in x32 we have diffrent font (usual, as many years before).
So, please, add that feature in x32 too, or make x64 to show text the same as in x32 (as usual).

Confirmed.

Why? Tcx64 und Tcx32 are different programs. It is not a must, that they have the exact identical visual appearance.

Yes I found this one and posted it in this topic: http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=34356
At first I thought it was a new bug introduced in the 64bit version, but the original bug was for the 32bit one. So I came across by accident. I couldn't believed what umbra said, that it's a bug it's present been for at least few months or even from the beginning. I grabbed the ß1 and what do know? It was still present. I was amazed how this one was not fixed yet!

Here are my set of screenshots:

But it is still Total Commander! And that's the same program with the same functions and features. So, both x32 and x64 should have identical interface anywhere. Only serious restrictions can be ignored, but not this serious detail!

I don't think that is the case. Here the font in the color dialog is smaller than my file panel font, and it is not bold either as my file panel font is. So in my case the examples does not even closely look like the actual file panel.

PS I simply use TC's default font setting.

In TCx64, that thumbnail draws text using Dialog box font. But it would be useful, if it worked in both versions and used the File list font.

I support it too! That's the bug that it's described, and the purpose of the Example box is to be accurate and would show the same font that is used in the File list! The issue is present since ß1 and would be nice if it would be fixed before the final release of Total Commander 8.0.

No, I'm serious as usual.

Yes, there is a bug - TCx32 and TCx64 use different fonts in that thumbnail. But it shows us an opportunity for a new feature.

I have noticed that too - although I use the same code in Delphi and Lazarus, it displays incorrectly in Lazarus only. Unfortunately I fear that I will have to leave it like this, sorry.

There's only one difference between both versions - while TCx64 draws that text using a font selected for 'Dialog box font', TCx32 always uses font 'System' size 10.
It's just a guess, but maybe you didn't specify what font should be used, so a default one is chosen - and that might be different in Lazarus and Delphi.

As a feature request, please consider using the 'File list font' in that preview (if possible).

please consider using the 'File list font' in that preview at least in TCx64
Support - and also apply bold, if bold is chosen for the file list.
