1. Select several folders and pack them with WinRar/Rar archiver.
2. Modify some file(s) in just packed folders (in source location, not in archive).
3. Select the same folders in left panel and all folders inside newly made archive in right panel.
4. Press Synchronize Dirs, double click on some difference, modify both left and right file.
5. Close Compare Files By Content, save both files and confirm repack.
6. Now I cannot close Synchronize Dirs (I hear ding sound), context menu does not pop up (ding sound) but check boxes work. Had to kill TC process.

I reproduce this all the time with 32 and 64 bit. Can you reproduce it? Maybe archiver version/settings are important.

Confirm this on x64.

I think it is not related to comparing packed stuff, but rather to using ctrl+f3 to view diffs of some of the files in the comparison, and edit+save them while in diff mode. After that, no way to have the comparison view do anything anymore: neither sync nor close (it's still useful to make "ding" sound though, if you're into electronic music Wink

).

Maybe a real bug in [8.0ß25x32] (only "maybe" because of, I do not know, if it depends of my configuration in wincmd.ini):

The Synch-Tool is not closeable after an edit in file compare. The Tc "hangs" and must be closed via taskmanger (other elements of Synch-tool are still usable: F2, Minimize, ... )

Scenario:
- Open Synch-Tool with two Folders and press compare button
- Doubleclick a pair of text files to open the file compare dialog
- edit one file by pressing edit button and than delete a text line (for example) in the file on the right
- press compare button and answer the question about file saving with yes
- close the file compare dialog by clicking the x in the title line
- now the synch-tool is not closeable
- The Tc "hangs" and must be closed via taskmanger

Something with "modal" and ".close" I think.

I meet this twice, after a rename into sync tool.

Also I escape only with task-manager.

Seems to be fixed in TC8 rc1. I can no longer reproduce it following JOUBE's or Valentino's steps.

Thanks! The problem was that the "compare busy" flag was not reset, so the dialog refused to close.
