Special keys on keyboard don't work while focus is on TC

I have a keyboard with special keys (Microsoft Internet Keyboard Pro)

These special keys (the small round keys at the top of the keyboard) come with predefined functions (e.g. "Start media player"), but can also be redefined.

Whenever Total Commander 8.0 has the focus the keys work with the predefined factory default. As soon as another prog has the focus, they work as defined by me (= as should be the case).

Do you run TC with elevated privileges (as admin)?
IntelliType doesn't work properly with such applications and what you describe is one of the symptoms.

Yes, as admin.

Is that reason? Is there any workaround?

Either run TC as normal user or IntelliType as admin. I had some issues with the latter so for this (and other reasons) I decided to run TC with normal privileges. It's up to you what suits you better. Sorry, but I'm not aware of any other solution.
