ERROR! Can't Modify Permissions And Can't Root Everywhere!

Post by *fateflv »

MyPhone is HUAWEI C8500S with android 2.3.7 and rooted.
CyanogenMod-7.1.0
CPU:ARMv6-compatible processor rev 2

Total Commander for Android 2.03

1.When I want to check the "Root functions everywhere", that will show me the Error Message-"You do not have root access on this device!".

2. Re-mount Error!

When I press the ".r" button to set read-write for the '/' , '/system' or other file system folders, it said "Re-mount error! FIX ME! implement ttyname() bionic/libc/bionic/stubs.c:360".

3.Properties no "Permissions" change button
I want to use Total Commander to change some Permissions. But there's only a 'r-',and no button to change.

I love Total Commander, I want to Root functions everywhere, re-mount r/w any where, change the permission. But the Total Commander didn't work on my phone. I'd rooted my phone, and the Root Explorer work.

Anybody can tell me how to make the Total Commander work on my phone? Thanks!

Sounds like your phone is only partially rooted. Did you install a system update recently? If yes, you will need to re-root your phone.

The 2.3.7 System is not offical ROM, Yestoday I turn it back to Android2.2.2.
Now I'll try to update and re-root.

If it's only partially rooted, I don't known why the RootExplorer can get root the System but the Total Commander cannot.

Thank you.

Root explorer may have some workaroud to the ttyname bug because it is specialized on root functions. TC interprets a non-empty return string to a function as an error. The function may have succeeded, but TC cannot know due to the ttyname error.

There's still the problem while my phone update to Android2.3.7. I down to the 2.2.2 and decide to buy a new phone.

Try installing SuperSU or SuperUser. TC needs one of them to handle root mode.
