8.50: Disable ''copy all files, skip errors, ask at end''?

Post by *Asperamanca »

I have something that looks suspiciously like a bug in File Search in my 7.50, so I intended to update to 8.50 before posting anything.

However...I read the "new features" and see this:
F5 copy: First copy all files where the user doesn't need to be asked and skip all with errors, ask at the end
That's exactly the wrong way round! I want to be asked up front, so the copy process can then finished unattended. But even the previous behavior is better for what I do, so is there a way to keep the old behavior?

8.50: F5 Copy - First copy all files, ask at the end.

TC help > Config and Switches > Settings in the file wincmd.ini

[Configuration]
SkippedFileCopy=1

1: First copy all files where the user doesn't need to be asked and skip all with errors, ask at the end
0: Copy all files in order, ask for confirmation when needed

Actually you WILL be asked upfront if there is a name collision within the first 5 seconds. Otherwise it's better to ask at the end for the (probably few) files which could not be copied. TC cannot ask at the beginning for everything, because a file which can be opened at the beginning may be locked later when it should actually be copied...

You will find out how irritating when you copy 1,5TB over network what takes 15 hours, and you go to sleep and just after 40 minutes TC get an error message but you can press SKIP ALL when you wake up 8 hours later... and your PC was on for nothing. :)

This is an excelent feature, thank you :)
