Request: ExtSDCard support for Slim Roms Note 3

Post by *vidwhal »

Hi there Ghisler. Thanks for the great file browser. I have loaded a custom ROM - SlimKat 4.4.4 on my Note 3. Ever since the 2.05 betas my SD card is not being recognised (though 2.04 detects it correctly). I'm wondering if maybe the mount location is different and TC is not aware of the mounts used in SlimKat?
Would you be able to add support to the next beta release if this is the case?
My mount info for the external SD is the following locations:

(root location)/external_sd
or
(root location)/extSdCard
or
(root location)/storage/sdcard1
or
(root location)/mnt/extSdCard
or
(root location)/mnt/media_rw/sdcard1

Thanks,

vidwhal

Please post your /proc/mounts file. It seems that TC cannot find your mounted drive in there.

This is picked up just fine here - are you sure you didn't change anything else? I compared the sources of 2.04 and 2.05 beta 4, the mount reading part is exactly the same. The only difference is that the beta reads additional paths afterwards, so it should actually get MORE locations than 2.04.

Can you try to re-install 2.04 and check whether it show the paths or not, please?

There are two possible reasons:
1. You have hidden the folder yourself: Please long tap on "SS-card" and choose "Show all hidden". This is a new feature of 2.05, 2.04 would not hide anything.
or
2. The new Kitkat detection code could be crashing. Please contact me by e-mail (support at ghisler dot com) for a private beta to test this.

It was indeed a problem with the new Kitkat code, thanks!
