Forgive me if already asked, but i have searched and can't find answer...

I am on a ROOTED Android 4.4.2 Galaxy Note2, and have upgraded to latest TC v2.80b2 to try to fix it, but no go...

When I ftp files to my external card, i get a popup "Error writing to target file!"
/mnt/extSdCard/Freds-stuff/TEMP/File.psd!

I tried enabling "Root access everywhere" but still get the error.

HELP!
THANKS!

Further... testing...

I downloaded Android App called ANDftp and tried it.

I get an error message from it too:
"Download failed: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /storage/extSdCard/Freds-stuff/TEMP/QQQ1.png:
open failed: EACCES (Permission denied)

So still same problem... can't ftp to my external card.

ok, so SOME success...

I can ONLY ftp to ONE location on the External SD for each app...
(But YES i CAN do it)

for TotalCommander:
I can ONLY ftp to /storage/extSdCard/Android/data/com.ghisler.android.TotalCommander/files

for AndFTP:
I can ONLY ftp to /storage/extSdCard/Android/data/lysesoft.andftp//files

Is there some way to open up the permissions so i can ftp to any location i'd like to on the External SD card??

/f

Holy Moly... ok FURTHER...

I dont' know HOW i did the FTP the last time, where it worked using TC, but NOW it ONLY works using ANDftp, and NOT TotalCommander AT ALL to the External Card. Not sure WHY, but i tried ANDftp(successful) and THEN TotalCommander, thinking that something ANDftp did fixed or opened up a permission, but, to repeat, the previous post WORKS, but ONLY for ANDftp... and ONLY to the ONE location specified.

So why can TC not do it?

OK, got this working!

So I have a rooted device, so i didn't need to install towelroot (search other topics for this).

HOWEVER, I installed and ran the SDfix app in the PlayStore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix and ran it.

PRESTO... IT NOW WORKS... HOPE THIS HELPS OTHERS TO TROUBLESHOOT AND FIX THIS.
