Reboot when searching from root

Post by *technet »

Hello everyone,

Here on a Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910C, using N910C CyanogenMod 13 rooted with SuperSU stable, I get an instant reboot when using search function from the file system root.

The ROM is completely stable in any possible way.

Anything that could be done?

TC probably tries to use root rights. This is a very simple call to "su". On the first call, SuperSU should ask for confirmation that you want to grant TC root rights. Apparently your rooting was incomplete or faulty, this should not cause a reboot.

Btw, what happens when you try to enter /data/data ? Do you get a reboot too? TC also asks for root rights when you try to go there, because it's normally inaccessible for non-root users.

Root access was authorized to it, when it was requested, times ago.

data/data is acessible, no error. Tried even to change on settings "use root functions everywhere", with the same results.

I've ended up doing a clean install of a new rom version and with that I don't have any issues anymore.

From what I can remember, probably I've messed up some permissions on the previous rom.
