How to change 'read and write'- permissions?

Post by *Mangue »

Hi all, I have an android tv box with kitkat 4.4.4 with root giving me read error when trying to access to a hard disk that have connected to the rooter and share through samba with all devices home.
When I try to access the android tv get access rooter and samba without problems but when trying to access the directories a read error occurs and it seems a permissions problem. I would like to verify that samba and directories have all permits and I dont know how do it with TC mobile.
Thank you for your help.

It's probably a permission problem in Samba server, not in the file system - the files in the user-accessible area don't usually have restrictive permissions.

Thanks, I,m curious, with TC windows you can change the read and write permissions. With TC mobile, can you do it too?

For local files? Yes, via properties, but normally not on user partition (usually /storage/emulated/0) because it uses a file system like FAT32 which doesn't support permissions (fake permissions are shown).
