The plugin probably needs some DLLs missing on your system.

Post by *sky66 »

Recently, I reinstalled Windows 10 64 bit and TC 11. After that, I installed wcx_total7zip_0856 and it works fine.
But when installing wlx64_uLister_4.0.0 and wlx64_sLister_1.1.2, an error occurred.
"The plugin probably needs some DLLs missing on your system."

I read the information at viewtopic.php?t=48701 and also installed Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.
I've installed from "2005" to "2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022" , but it's still the same. I wonder if there's anything else missing?

For ulister: have you installed the libraries from Oracle® http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/licenses/standard-license-152015.html
License #524 (1994)
Danish Total Commander Translator
TC 11.03 32+64bit on Win XP 32bit & Win 7, 8.1 & 10 (22H2) 64bit, 'Everything' 1.5.0.1371a
TC 3.50b4 on Android 6 & 13

Not yet, but I think I just need to copy the 'redist' folder from the old computer.
The current issue is that under Configuration - Plugins, there is no ulister and slister in the WLX section.
So, when I press F3, there are no plugins available.

The Oracle files are here
https://www.oracle.com/middleware/technologies/outside-in-technology-downloads.html
You need an account, but they will not spam you in any way with this account.
The files are from the Viewer Technology 8.5.6 in the bitness of your TC.

The Oracle DLLs need some Microsoft runtime libraries:

Thank you all for your help.

After several attempts of installing the older version of Visual C++ Redistributable 2013 that I downloaded previously and uninstalling,
then install the new version of 2013.
I also tried installing the unofficial wlx_uLister_4.0.0.1, but in the end, I reinstalled wlx64_uLister_4.0.0.
It's strange, but wlx64_uLister_4.0.0 is now working.

Currently, only slister cannot exit by pressing 'Esc' in 64-bit mode, but it works fine on my other computer.
(SumatraPDF-settings.txt : EscToExit = true)
For now, I'll use wlx_TCSumatraPDF_1.51 instead.

The Ulister 4.0.0.1 is just a better way to use only one Ulister plugin dir for x86 and x64 TC.
So the Oracle DLL files are stored inside redist32 and redist64 sub-dirs.

The TCSumatraPDF is the better way, compared to SLister.
It works with any bitness of TC and only needs one SumatraPDF
which then also supports ESC to exit.

It seems like TCSumatraPDF takes longer to start up, right?
Then I removed sLister, and after reinstalling it, something strange happened - the ESC function was restored.

BUT, in the Lister - Plugins menu, sLister is gone, and now only uLister remains.
Although sLister still works, I can't use the menu to select it. Instead, I can press 4 to switch to it.
But I've been used to this issue for a long time. On my other computer, there isn't even a uLister in the menu, only an option for "Internal (no plugins)"

I don't see any difference in start-up time as this is mostly SumatraPDF related.

If the Lister plugins menu doesn't show all installed plugins, something is strange with your config.
Check the [ListerPlugins] section of your Wincmd.ini

(SumatraPDF-settings.txt : EscToExit = true)
It is for when you open the SumatraPDF.exe file.

Here I can escape slister in 64bit anmd 32bit TC with EscToExit set to either true and false.

That is normally the case when you have SumatraPDF versions in the bitness of TC.
There is a long thread about this problem.
The TCSumatraPDF plugin only needs one SumatraPDF version.
