Sorting directories [solved]

Post by *Holraven »

Hiya! Currently running TC x64 11.03RC1, but this also occured on TC 11.0 (that's why I just updated).

I have four drives connected:
  • C: - System drive – sorting works
  • B: - Internal SSD - sorting does NOT work
  • D: - External memory stick - sorting does NOT work
  • K: - Windows file share through GPO - sorting works
On B: and D: sorting is locked to alphabetical, and changing sorting order has no effect!

Update: When *disconnecting* and *reconnecting* the USB drive, I was able to sort again. Restaring TC alone did NOT help. Remember: This also affected the *internal* SSD. Weird.

Not confirmed, I need more information.
1. Can you reproduce it in a subdirectory with just 2 files?
2. If not, with some more files?
3. Does is affect only folders, or also files?
4. By what are you trying to sort other than by name?

Never mind, I'm an idiot! I'm working with folders containing SUBFOLDERS only. Solved by "Configuration" -> "Sorting directories". 🤦‍♂️

I've been an avid TC user for more than a decade and haven't thought of this before. This is embarrassing...
