Commandline's Autocomplete activating despite AutoComplete=0 in inifile
Even with AutoComplete=0 set to the ini file, after accessing the commandline history once, it starts to offer to autocomplete the matching files from the current folder.

Bug was found on TC 11.00x32, TC 11.02x32, TC 11.03x32 RC2
This bug does not happens with TC 10.52x32 or older versions.
Steps to reproduce the bug:
---------------------------------------
1. Edit ini file and set AutoComplete=0 at [Configuration] section then start TC.
2. CTRL+DOWN to get the commandline focus.
3. CTRL+DOWN again to get the commandline history. (even if it is empty, does not matter)
4. ESCAPE to close the commandline history.
5. CTRL+DOWN to get again the commandline focus.
6. Press a single key, like the 'A' key, and the Autocomplete popup should show up like shown in the above picture.

Re: Commandline's Autocomplete activating despite AutoComplete=0 in inifile
Not confirmed (tested on Windows 7 and 10 with TC 11.03rc2 32bit and 64bit).
Are you sure you don't have another AutoComplete=0 in your wincmd.ini file
BTW instead of performing step 2-4 here above it is easier just to press Shift+RightArrow or Shift+LeftArrow (you dont even need to press shift if you are not using Brief View or SpecialCursorMovement in wincmd.ini) - or just click with the mouse on the command line.

Re: Commandline's Autocomplete activating despite AutoComplete=0 in inifile
To ensure the bug, I also did the test with fresh TC installs.
Anyway, it wont change the bug behavior.
With AutoComplete=0, the Command line's Autocomplete is supposed to never trigger.
Unlike TC 11.x, the older versions (TC 10.52 and olders) are working correctly with the same ini settings.
Re: Commandline's Autocomplete activating despite AutoComplete=0 in inifile
Me too. And also I did use GUI options which were made exactly for such a quick turn on/off cases. To ensure the bug, I also did the test with fresh TC installs.
Not fully understand WHY you decided to use directly INI options...

So IF you will uncheck both checkmarks - you will get the desirable behavior. Tested on 11.03RC2

Just to be sure, I just tested by unchecking the checkmarks, instead of editing the ini file directly, with the same result...AntonyD wrote: ↑2024-01-29, 09:20 UTCMe too. Obviously the bug ALSO happens that way...
No offense, but do you guys even understand the bug i am reporting here ?
EDIT: Also, the steps I give on the first post is just a way to reproduce the bug, not a tutorial explaining how to use TC the best way.
No offense again, but this is a bug reporting forum, so please stop with your advices as they do not helps at all.
I am reporting a bug, not asking for help !
Thank you.
Re: Commandline's Autocomplete activating despite AutoComplete=0 in inifile
Can confirm with a fresh ini, but only in TC 11.03RC2 32-bit, not 64-bit.

But there is a bug - If I change AutoComplete=0 manually in wincm.ini (as described in the initial report) and restart TC, then autocomplete is correctly disabled
But if I use th GUI and disable "Auto-complete path"and "Auto-append suggested name" then autocomplete is NOT disabled - I have to restart TC for that to happen. And only in 32bit TC as Hacker also points out.
Also I have to have had the command line history dropdown activated for the bug to happen (that is why I mentioned the other ways of focusing the command line, to make sure that the described way is the only way of reproducing the bug).
I should think so. You are claming that the autocomplete function of path names is active also when AutoComplete=0 in wincmd.ini even though it shouldn't be. And here on my computers I can say that the autocomplete function indeed is disabled when AutoComplete=0 and is active when AutoComplete!=0.No offense, but do you guys even understand the bug i am reporting here ?

Re: Commandline's Autocomplete activating despite AutoComplete=0 in inifile
Confirmed. TC is turning off Auto-Complete when opening the history to prevent interference between history and auto-complete, and re-enables it when closing the history. It shouldn't try re-enable it with AutoComplete=0.

can you also confirm that the bug does NOT occur if TC has been restarted after disabling "Auto-complete path"and "Auto-append suggested name" via the GUI?

Here it also occurs after restarting TC.

Re: Commandline's Autocomplete activating despite AutoComplete=0 in inifile
Hmm, Here under Windows 7 and 10 I can only reproduce it after disabling "Auto-complete path"and "Auto-append suggested name" via GUI UNTIL i have restarted TC - thereafter autocomplete=0 is respected.
