I have installed this app on my C500 and now I want to uninstall it, but it won't uninstall.

I have re-booted my phone, re-installed it, stopped all programs using Task Manager and still it refuses to uninstall.

How do I get this app off my phone?

What Application did you install?

Where did you install it, on PC or your phone?

Well, the vision of someone with a puzzled look peering at a TC file list on his teensy-weensy smartphone screen and trying to type on an itty-bitty keyboard does bring a smile to my face, I'm afraid! I know I shouldn't laugh (it's TC after all) but that's life. Shoot me!

I travel a lot for work (car and train). My smartphone is a Motorola mpx200 WM2003 (107 Euros) with a 1GB secure digital (70 Euros).

I use my smartphone to hear music programs, foreign languages programs, science and educational programs recorded from satellite tv the day before.
Since I must carry with me the cell, a lot of informations are now immediately available for me: Dictionaries, wordbooks or simple txt files. I can record some informations on the fly, too: Echo Voice recorder for smartphone (gsm compression).
To handle files I use TC. What's wrong with that? I press 5 and I copy the files I have selected: What's wrong with that? If I can read an sms I can see TC file list, too. Moreover I can tune TC fonts.

Absolutely no problem.

Thank you Ghisler!

Nothing, absolutely nothing. I'm very pleased you find it so useful. I have to confess I belong to that dying breed of Luddites who resent the intrusion of the mobile into my life, privacy, and quiet moments so I don't use it to anything like the extent you do. I prefer a paper book to an eBook and avoid iPod earbuds assiduously. For me, a heavy-duty file manager would be a step too far but I must apologise for my seeming lack of sympathy for someone having to debug software on a phone - I assure you no insult was intended or implied to users of TC mobile!

I avoid iPod too. I didn't want any mobile device with me. But since I can't work or travel without a cellphone it's better for me if there is a windows operating system inside the cell, with all the programs I want and when I want. If I'm tired: Flight mode button or Off button...and into the pocket.

Unfortunately I have no idea how it can be installed, sorry. According to Microsoft documents, uninstalling should be automatic when all installer settings are made. It does work like this on the PocketPC and on the Handhelds, but not on the Smartphone. Sad

Does anyone have any idea why it doesn't work on the smartphone? Here is my install.inf for the Smartphone:

I just used Sprit Backup to restore my phone to a pre-install state.

You need to sort it!

Good to hear that you could fix it. I have decided to withdraw the Smartphone version completely until I find a solution to why uninstall doesn't work.

Hello!

Im not very fammiliar with developing an installer technologies, but have you tested your inf file with removing the dots in the sections?

The Exapmle in this article does not contain any dots in the sections.

give it a try...

I am a log time TotalCommander User (possibly over 4 Years) and would really appreciate to use it on the last windows powered that does not have a Total Commander.

Great work!

Good point, underneath the same example is stated:

Quote:

The Provider Name and Application Name cannot contain XML reserved characters and Windows CE file system reserved characters, such as: \/:*?" < >|&

In the inf file, the provider name contains a '&', it might be the reason...
