Lister sometimes doesn't play mp3 files
I am using lister in tc to play my mp3 files. With most files this works fine, but with some (newer?) mp3 files lister doesn't play the file but shows the text. Pressing 4 does not help.
The mp3 files are ok, because irfanview plays the files without any problem.

Lister does not play mp3 files at all but calls the windows dll to do so. So those files are apparently not supported by the Windows internal player dll. They probably cannot be played by your Mediaplayer, too. Irfanview uses a plugin, I think, which knows the new codec (or whatever is different in those mp3 -I'm not that familiar with mp3).

I don't know, but maybe you'll find something in the forum using the search.mi-2 wrote:Thanks for your reply.
Is there any replacement for the Windows dll that gives a better support for mp3 files?
I do not listen very often mp3 music.

Maybe an update of your mediaplayer could help?

This seems to be caused by mp3 files containing CD cover images. The multimedia window function called by Total Commander doesn't seem to like these. Unfortunately there seems to be no way to fix this problem, except for using one of the mentioned lister plugins, sorry.
