Fabio,
I asked you some time ago if it would be possible to ignore html tags inside the place for version number (for the result).
http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?p=7014#7014.
You haven't answered. Could it be possible?
It often happens that next to the "bold" version number, there is a last modification date, too. But I can't get it cause i get in the result e.g. something like this:
(2.38</b> 12.05.2003) - I don't like the: </b>

BTW: It's a pity, I can't:
- Delete the whole list directly from \\\Versions\
- Delete the search from the list just by pressing DELETE in the searches
- Copy a list just from \\\Versions\ to \\\Versions\ - now I must copy it to any directory, and then copy it back with a new name to \\\Versions\

For the next version
Delete the whole list directly from \\\Versions\
Do you do this very often?
Delete the search from the list just by pressing DELETE in the searches
OK for the next version
Copy a list just from \\\Versions\ to \\\Versions\
I'm not sure it's possible.

Now, when I set most of my favourites - I don't need it too much. My configuration seems to be stable.
But when I was trying the plugin - I changed the lists very often, created new lists and... then I had to go TC directory to clean all my spare lists. So I think it can be useful for... new users of your plugin.

I like the answer: "OK for the next version" :-)

Another suggestion:
Now I've got... 14 lists :-)
Some of them are used just for checking new versions of different programs, others are collections of different tools.
I know that it's possible to create mixed list but of course I try to avoid it.
I'd like to be able to easily distinguish the list, I mean it would be good to have different icons for the two types of lists. I realize that there would have to be any additional indicator for them, probably.
What do you think about it?

fabiochelly,
Finally have some time to test the plugin - it's cool, thanks. :)
One question - would it be possible to download the new software directly by F5? For instance a new version of 7-Zip. To get the download link we would specify parameters similar to the search, like start after 'download', search for '<a href="', before string '"'. What do you think?

BTW: Here are some of my searches:
XnView|http://perso.wanadoo.fr/pierre.g/xnview/enhome.html|All is free, so do not hesitate !|<b>XnView (v|/|1.61
DivX|http://www.divx.com/divx/divx_win_versions.php|This is the version history|<!-- Version | -->|5.0.5
LAME|http://mitiok.free.fr/c.htm|"stable" versions|>lame-|</a>|3.93.1

TIA

2Hacker and anybody else who cares:

ART|http://www.elcomsoft.com/art.html|Get more|about ART |</a>|1.67 sr1

As stated before: how about collecting lists, for all the different purposes e.g. viewers, audio, graphic, registry, tuning, ...?
At least it would be a very good collection of (so I hope) interesting free´n shareware.
BUT whith the great benefit of fabios version-audit!!

Live all long and prosper,
Cheer up, Karl

Regarding LAME:

Code: Select all

Regarding plugin:
fabiochelly, is there any way to update progress window with more info in the "To:" label like "bytes transferred", "bytes total" etc. from TIdHTTP or directly from HTTP headers?

When you download webpages (small files mostly), it takes more time to connect to the website than download the page. So the progress won't be very useful because the progress will jump directly from 0 to filesize.

Maybe just fire a custom setup form from the plugin, instead of many "Inputs"?

fabiochelly,
It means that I have to add new parameters: create new search would be more difficult.

IMHO it would take just two or three more (optional) strings, similar to the ones already there - search from, search after, search before. Paths not starting with http:// could be retrieved relatively to the webpage address.

Would be great if you could do it.
But it's of course ok if you don't.

TIA

As soon as I have time, I'll add it for next version.
