[BUG] Moving across mount points

Post by *djet »

Sometimes TC fails to detect if the source and destination volumes are the same and launches a regular Copy+Delete operation. For example, if I move file from E: volume to a junction point that leads to the same volume (D:\Video == E:\Video) TC launches a Copy+Delete, not Move operation. Explorer operations (Cut&Paste) handle this situation properly.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

If you have a drive mounted inside some other drive, so both share the same drive letter...
Roman, actually I have an opposite situation: same partition, but different drive letters.

Hi,

maybe the INI file setting

Code: Select all

[Configuration]
SamePartitions=XYZ
helps?

No. Only copy+paste via Explorer helps.

I can't reproduce this behaviour on Windows 2000, not among the problems I've seen with junctions in TC. Dragging videos from
M:\G - Multimedia\Multimedia\Mov TO
M:\vtest -> "G - Multimedia\test\vtest"
Results in copy dialog unless I hold SHIFT during drag.

(Where "G - Multimedia" is a mountpoint)
*BLINK* TC9 Added WM_COPYDATA and WM_USER queries for scripting.

Well, for me it's also not absolutely reproducible..

It still happens with 6.54a. Also tried a "clean profile" (deleting wincmd.ini), won't help.
