Packer support for 7-Zip
Is there any possibility for builtin support for 7z. It's starting to grow rapidly, and it is a very good packer. I would certainly enjoy finding support for it inside the next Total Commander release.
See http://www.7-zip.org/ for more about 7z.

Step in right direction but . . .
This plug-in is a big step in the right direction but . . .
With encrypted .zip files, one can click on a file in a .zip and unpack and execute (say edit) and then it is repacked. With this plugin you need to click on a encrpted 7z file enter your password several times and then edit and it is not successfully repacked.
We need native 7z implementation Christian!

You know that this wouldnt solve your prob as TC will never have implemented encryptuing routines ?Monk wrote:This plug-in is a big step in the right direction but . . .

(because of swiss export laws)
Hoecker sie sind raus!
This seems to be a problem of the 7zip plugin, not for packer plugins in general. The packer plugin TotalSQX repacks edited files to an encrypted archive without any problems (you need to enter the password 2 times: once for unpacking and once for repacking)
BTW:
For encrypted ZIP archives I get the error
"Cannot find external pack program [...]",
when TC trys to repack the changed file to the archive. The wcmzip32.dll with crypto support is installed, of course.
What should be done to get it work? (Didn't search the forum yet... I'll do it now)

It could be winzip.exe or an old DOS zip packer. I personally use the DOS zip packer pkzip 2.04 - it works fine.
Go into Configuration -> Zip packer and put in the name of your external zip program in the first box marked "Zip packer:"What should be done to get it work?

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
