[Forum REQ] Punish use of extremely annoying high...

Post by *icfu »

frequency AniGIFs like that from Gral with a forum ban of at least three and a half months. :twisted: :roll: :wink:

Am I too sensitive? Am I getting old? Both?

Ah well, thank God for F12 in Opera! ;)

@SanskritFritz:
Yeah, I can block it of course. That's what I have already done with your avatar by the way:

:mrgreen: (nah, just kidding...)
I am using Opera TP2 with great adblocking included.

@KevinMo:
Yeah, my avatar is big, but it doesn't move, you see?
Don't take this thread too serious please... ;)

759 bytes -> big? I can't see any relationship between these two terms :wink:
I think most avatars here is pretty small. There're lots of high quality animation avatars and huge signatures floating in some other forums, where I usually have to turn off images in Opera :(

You should ask Ghisler to reduce the current 6Kb avatar limit, if you think the download size if to much for peoples (or just your own) bandwith in general.

Whether peoples avatars are animated or not should be of no concern, as long as they do not exceed the Kb limit.

If somebody don't like animations in general, they should just turn off support for animation in their browser.

Do you need any explanation about what I mean with high frequency? Why that permanent talking about avatar size? Why do you explain me how to disable AniGIF support?

Ah well, at least SanskritFritz got me, that's enough for me for today, really. ;)

Good night, folks.

Apparently I do - I don't think that a frequency of 10/100sec is a high frequency for an animated gif - that's rather within normal range. So maybe the answer to your question:
Am I too sensitive? Am I getting old? Both?
is yes ;-)

I didn't try to explain to you in particular how to disable anigif support - that's why I wrote "somebody" and not "you". It was addressed to the readers in general. Don't worry icfu - I know my limits - I would never try to teach you anything about software - you are the software guru here - not I.

I was just wondering because I had already explained that disabling AniGIF support is a solution, Adblocking too, etc...

Don't be angry please, it wasn't intended as an offense. This thread was hardly meant serious, I am just a little bored. Forgive me, thanks. :)
