If you often need to zoom to larger sizes, set the thumbnail base size to twice of what you want, and then use Ctrl+Mouse wheel to zoom the thumbnails to 50%. Scaling down is always better than scaling up.

And what are the results?I tested searching for content in files inside archives
And I think this is due to some complaints about interaction with plugins (memory problems, etc.), so it became necessary to add support for a popular archive type in order to independently debug interaction with libraries. An internal implementation with debugged memory allocation and other things gives its advantages in read and initialization speed, as was done, for example, when implementing libdeflate for ZIP and GZIP.My guess is that Ghisler added the internal 7z unpacker, so people without plugins can still open and unpack 7z archives - not to speed up things.

Hmm. not here - is that when you press enter on a .7z file or a .7zip file - or both?By the way, I found one unpleasant thing with your settings: when writing Filter№=*.7z;*.7zip, an empty AnyName.7zip opens with an external program by pressiing Enter.
I did not test the speed - I tested whether the internal unpacker OR Total7zip is used when searching the content of .7z files. I did that by renaming 7zip's 7z.dll file, which gives me an error message when searching for conten - which shows me that TC uses 7zip (via the plugin) and not the internal unpacker. So if Total7zip is installed in TC, the question of which method is the fastest is academic, since the unpacking with the plugin is always used. As I wrote: there is NO "Use internal un-7Z if possible" option in TCAnd what are the results?

I've already done that:all I would like to have confirmed is that my setting does NOT generate an Open item in the top of the normal Windows context menu
, which means the presence of this item in the internal associations menu and its absence in the system one. Everything seems to be obvious.
Everything is exactly as I wrote it. No more, no less. I didn't complain about .7z.Hmm. not here - is that when you press enter on a .7z file or a .7zip file - or both?
Unlike 7z=, I don't have a line with 7zip= either, so no difference in behavior is expected for empty and non-empty archives, but nevertheless it's there. It could be because we might have different settings in the [PackerPlugins] section - what are your accoiations for 7z and 7zip in that section?

Subexpressions for search+replace
Text parts in round brackets are taken as subexpressions. Up to 89 subexpressions are supported now.
Example: To swap the title and interpret in the file name of an mp3 file, when they are separated by a dash (Title - Interpret.mp3), use the following options:
Search for: (.*) - (.*)\.mp3
Replace by: $2 - $1.mp3
Here $1 means the text in the first round bracket, and $2 the text in the second round bracket.

The source of this text window is not important. The text does not provide correct, up-to-date and truthful information - which means it should be suspended and instead of this window, a window from Total should appear with a more correct message, as I wrote above.2nd the error msg is from WINDOWS not TC so your complain has to be directed to microsoft
If you dont like it you can always use one of the worse alternatives to tc that are out thereAren't we playing around with legacy platform support for too LONG from a security standpoint?

I am not suggesting a switch, just that if we want or need to switch one day, this forum looked nice. Can't remember any specific feature, WYSIWYG editing perhaps, maybe also something else caught my eye, can't remember anymore. Regarding specific functions, marking topics as solved would be nice, perhaps thanking users, and marking specific posts as "the correct / most helpful answer".I don't think that a switch would be easy. but the portable version of everything doesn't need to installed , it's portable and stealthATTENTION: Everything portable must be installed on your system drive which is usually the C drive and NOT X drive(!).
If this is not set, there will be problems with the Everything Service(!)
Good point Tuska , i have changed few seconds ago after i have read your feedback1. Total Commander: I would use a path WITHOUT spaces, e.g. x:\totalcommander_portable\ or C:\totalcmd\
2. A very common path for a portable TC installation is: C:\totalcmd\ (much shorter)
Based on this path, it is already clear that it is probably a portable installation of Total Commander.
outside ram , is it faster?I would recommend the 64 bit version in any case.
NOT because of the performance

Text parts in round brackets are taken as subexpressions. Up to 89 subexpressions are supported now.
Example: To swap the title and interpret in the file name of an mp3 file, when they are separated by a dash (Title - Interpret.mp3), use the following options:
Search for: (.*) - (.*)\.mp3
Replace by: $2 - $1.mp3
Here $1 means the text in the first round bracket, and $2 the text in the second round bracket.

Well, you can combine the 3 steps. For example like this:
Code: Select all
Rename mask: filename
