+ It should be optional to put the SMB Server String on the UNC path most of the times I need to edit the path and I have to remove the server string.
+ Last UNC Paths should be remembered in the path editor ie a drop down of last paths.

Are you familiar with the directory hotlist? It's behind the tiny [*] button at the top-right of each file panel, or just double click on the current folder name above the panel.
You can add the current folder, then use Configuration to change the accompanying command into "cd \\<server>\<share>". From then on you can always quickly access it.
