path bar with active links

Post by *Domadm »

Hi
I'm another happy TC user :)

I would suggest implementing an very nice feature i've found in WinSCP3:
- make the path-bar folder names a links do their folders path

See below what I mean:
- currently TC displays just the current path (which is ok)
Image: http://download-v5.streamload.com/79d3828b-79e5-4ae6-af43-cfaef29293ec/domadm/FileManager/tcmdbar.JPG?action=embed

-but it could be improved like that:

The folder names on the second picture are links, so if you want to chdir fast to any upper folder - just click it's name on the path-bar.
It is very handy if you operate on long paths and have to switch fast.

Please consider implementing this - it is very helpful.

Best regards
Domadm

Press Shift+Click or set InplaceRenamePath=2 in wincmd.ini if you prefer to click without Shift...

This is also described in help, press 3a) and then click on the pic of the path.

Try and hold down the Shift key and left click on the part of the path you want to go to - it works the way you suggested.

If you just left click the path you can edit it - you may have to hold down the mouse key for little over a second for that to happen.

thanks!
This is the behaviuor I wanted... I would never find it in the help file (description is a little crowded there)

Maybe it is worth to put that option into Settings GUI somewhere!?

Some time ago icfu suggested to add possibility of editing the path after Shift-click when InplaceRenamePath=2 is active.

Is it possible to add such an option (maybe as InplaceRenamePath=3)?

InplaceRenamePath=2 is good for me, but occasionally I want to use "inplace changing of current path" too.
IMHO InplaceRenamePath=3 will be great.

If you want to edit the current path and that you use InplaceRenamePath=2 the best way IMO is to assign a shortcut to the command cm_EditPath (Configuration - Misc).

I am not against InplaceRenamePath=3 BTW.

I like InplaceRenamePath=2 but i dont turn it on because i lose the 1 click "inplace changing of current path".

So InplaceRenamePath=3 would work for me.
