Goto parent folder

At the top of the file list, I can jump to the parent folder by doubleclick. It would be helpful if this area was always selectable, no matter where I am in the file list.

Use the Backspace key

Thank you, it works. But for mouse user it would be very helpful to have this area always selectable.
Otherwise, mouse on the right hand and Backspace is also on the right of the keyboard, so there is too much actions to handle that many times again and again.

In the panel headers you have the Root ('\') and Parent ('..') buttons that you can click on. Also, there is the BreadCrumb there, which is even more versatile. What would be the benefit of your suggestion?

That is what i mean, but this wont present if you are scrolling down.

not for me, bc if you have long folderpaths is hard to be focussed on the right folder in the breadcrumb.

Fast Navigation only with mouse.

They are always visible, unless you explicitly hide them: https://imgur.com/a/ffjDPSx

matixx,
What can the first entry in the file list do that [\][..] cannot?

I suspect that matixx just doesn't like "Home" key and doesn't know how to add a button to button bar.

I believe 2matixx made already clear what he wanted. And the idea itself is perfectly fine. Plus, after the last few comments from others he probably also found out about the available alternatives. Personally, I'm now only interested in how his idea would improve what we already have. Because adding yet another way of achieving the same thing without any benefits is not right (and as you can see from the previous comments, we already have too many of them).

very short mouse way from filename in list to [..] on the top of the filelist, instead of the way straight over the window in the right upper corner.
This is a "mouse-only-user"-Feature.

AND, in new beta you can add a new folder by right click on [..]. Actually you dont can do that by mouse without scrolling on the top of the list.

Code: Select all

Show "New" submenu also in context menu for [..] entry, to create new file in current directory

Actually you dont can do that by mouse without scrolling on the top of the list.
You can use the context menu of the path bar (Current directory) or even the function key button [F7 NewFolder] on the bottom of the TC window for this.

Back to topic: making the top entry [..] sticky will reduce the number of visible entries in the file list when scrolling down the list.

Holger

Yes, will reduce the entries. One entry, this is negligible on the most used high Resolution Display.
