New function is named "F2 Search in found files" and it literally searches in files only: if initial search results contain folders, and to try to perform F2 search with only "Directory" attribute checked on Advanced tab, TC will find nothing. If only folders were found in initial search, F2 checkbox isn't even available for checking.

In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with additional search on folders from results of previous search.

Also, I think it would be nice to see additional option to perform F2 search INSIDE folders found in results of previous search.

You are absolutely right. Example: search for folders with some author name, then search for files with some title or content.

Indeed it only searches in found files, as the checkbox title implies. Searching recursively through folders would make the function a lot more complex. It would require an additional search for each found folder. It would also cause duplicates, e.g. when c:\windows and c:\windows\system32 are both found. Currently TC only needs to compare the new search parameters with the already found files.

How can one access this "F2" function? I can not find it in the "Commands" menu.

F2 toggles the check box above the Search results after a search is done.

It's only available in the search dialog once you have made a search.

Read the thread starter and it should be clear :)

Thanks.
In the original post, the word "only" and the comment after that mislead me in thinking something else.
"Option to search in search results only".
Now it is all clear.
Thanks.
