Directory already exists doesn't always appear

Post by *astrotzky »

1. Create directory (e.g. xy)
2. Rename directory (e.g. xyz)
3. Try to create a file using Shift+F4, give it the name of that directory (xyz)
4. The warning isn't shown (this is the problem), the file isn't created (of course) and Notepad is complaining: "Access is denied" (again as expected).

After you refresh the panel (Ctrl+R) trying to create a file shows the warning (as it should).

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this 100%. It only seems to happen on my big partition (I have two: 1-SYSTEM (10GB), 2-DATA (140GB)).

Using Windows XP Professional SP2 fully patched.

Thanks for your report, I could reproduce it once. I will check what the problem is.

TC 7.0 pb2:

Followed the steps described by astrotzky.
When pressing shift+f4 and entering the filename "xyz" I receive the error message:
Error: folder [xyz] already exists! Please enter a new name.
(translated back from German)

Hope this indicates the error has been fixed. :)
