TC 9.5b1 - Typos in history.txt

Post by *Stefan2 »

15.07.19 Added: Directory history thinning: wincmd.ini [Configuration]
HistoryThinning=1, HistoryThinningDelta=0 enables thinning only when user starts
some operation in the directory, not by timeout (32/64)

15.07.19 Added: Directory history thinning: wincmd.ini [Configuration]
HistoryThinning=1/0 turns thinning on and off without changing the value of the timeout (32/64)

Is there a "Delta" missing? Or is that correct that way around using both settings options together?

Is
HistoryThinning       =1, HistoryThinningDelta=0
correct in combination, ( <<< EDIT: yes, correct, see answer in post below )

or should it be read like
HistoryThinningDelta=1, HistoryThinningDelta=0
for enabling/disabling?

EDIT:
Me think now history.txt is correct and a combination of options, related to:
HistoryThinningDelta=5000 defaults to 5 seconds the user must stay in a directory to keep it in the history

I would suggest also changing this history line:
Show <LINK> for hard links/soft links to files instead of 0 size
Reason: hard links are just file entries and look as regular files, only symbolic links to files exist in Windows and show zero size.

Is
HistoryThinning=1, HistoryThinningDelta=0
correct in combination,
Yes, it's correct:
HistoryThinning=1 this enables history thinning
HistoryThinningDelta=0 this turns off the part where TC adds a directory when you stay in that directory for the given number of milliseconds.
If you disable this, directories will only be added to the history when you do something in that directory, e.g. copy, delete, rename, view etc.
I would suggest also changing this history line:
You are right, thanks for the correction.

I am not sure, but please also check older history entries mentioning <cr> as line breaks. Just in case Unix style was meant.
