TC 9.50 B2: How to install for corporate users?

Post by *Nemo_G »

Hi,
  • Download points to beta1 cab files
  • Syntax for installation for corporate users recommends "totalcmdbetainst.exe tcbeta.inf";
but tcbeta.inf is no longer provided; in consequence error message appears
  • When I run "totalcmdbetainst.exe tcmain.inf" error message complains missing totalcmd950b2x32_64.cab
How can I make an unattended offine install?

Nemo

Hi
You are right that https://www.ghisler.com/950_beta.htm should be updated to run

Code: Select all

totalcmdbetainst.exe tcmain.inf
instead of

Code: Select all

totalcmdbetainst.exe tcbeta.inf
in offline install step 4. The .inf file was changed in beta 2.
On the other hand, right now https://www.ghisler.ch/install/beta/ (linked from the download page) contains also beta 2 cab files. Try to download them and run the installer again.

As for the unattended install, I don't have much experience with that. But the tcmain.inf seems to be rather readable so you should be able to modify what you need. Especially, if you have done silent TC installations in the past. And if not, maybe other members here can help.
Though, I'm not sure, why you need an unattended installation of beta TC in the first place. As far as I understand, the final version will have the classic installer.

The URL only contains shows b1 cabs in FF v68.1.0ESR. Hope v68.2.0ESR will do it better.

But astonishingly with the named files can be downloaded! The links were taken from tcmain.inf.

On the other hand IE and Edge (under Win10/v1903/18362.418) and Google Chrome (actual versions) show the full content of https://www.ghisler.ch/install/beta/!

So I can try testing other versions for unattended install with Install.exe and modified Install*.INFs from older TC (v9.00).
