[solved] TC 9.5b2 - Extra lines

Post by *petermad »

The configuration vi UI of extra lines below cursor has been fixed: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=54246

But I would like to add a request. If I for example have set the value to 2, and used that, and I want to disable the function by clicking in the tickbox to the left of "Extra lines below cursor", then the next time I open the configuration dialog to enable the function again, the value is preselected to 4 in stead of 2. I would like TC to remember the value I used before I disabled the function.

I realize that it is because TC currently sets the two parameters ScrollingTopMargin and ScrollingBottomMargin to 0 when I disable the function.

May I recommend that the two values in stead is set to - (minus) the value it was when the function was disabled in my case "-2" - then TC can show "2" in the config. Or make a new parameter: ScrollingMarginEnabled=0/1 for turning the function on and off and keep the values for ScrollingTopMargin and ScrollingBottomMargin as they are when ScrollingMarginEnabled if changed.

Using negative values sounds like a good idea, thanks!

Other places you could use this approach:
BriefViewWidthLimit (currently removed when disabled)
LogKeepCount (currently -1 when disabled)
LogRotateLimit (currently -1 when disabled)
AutoResume (wcx_ftp.ini ) (currently -1 when disabled)

You are actually already using the negative value aproach for SoundDelay
