"Separate tree" mode: Possible bug pressing F2

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

"Separate tree" mode: Possible bug pressing F2

Post by *wanderer »

When in "Separate tree" mode, if you are in the tree section of a panel and you press F2, the files list seems to be refreshed but also the selection bar (cursor) is moved from the tree panel to the files panel, as if you had clicked in it. I don't know if that's by design but IMHO it's not good to work like this.

I think this is by design. Pressing F2 refreshes the last active file panel. The cursor jump is to indicate which panel that is, which is not necassarily obvious if you are using only one sep tree.

Personally, i think it's confusing. I'd like to hear Christian's comment on this, just to let us know if it is indeed by design or not.

Yes, indeed F2/Ctrl+R invokes the command cm_rereadsource. As the name says, it refreshes the source directory, which is the currently active _file_ panel. The tree cannot be the source of any file operations, so it's never the source panel.
