Directory tree alignment

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Directory tree alignment

Post by *icfu »

When only one directory tree is selected, it looks like an alien. Align like when two trees are displayed, please.

Yes, I agree. It is weird to have 2 separate looks for this.

I like it the current way, it makes it easier to distinguish between a sep. tree or just an old style left panel tree view.

The 1 panel sep. tree is a navigation tool, so I like that it is clear that it is not a file panel object. IMHO 2 sep. trees shouldn't have been introduced at all, but that is just my 2 cents.

The more I look at it, the more I like it. Maybe I was too fast in judging? :)
Also I realize that it prevents an asymmetric look of the file panels, especially in horizontal view.

Ah well, maybe it can be made optional without too much effort but I will get used to it nevertheless, just a matter of time probably. I'll see... ;)

It looks like this because
- the single separate tree belongs to BOTH panels
- the higher it is, the more folders can be shown at the same time
- there is no header to be shown because the tree starts at the root (the desktop) and there is no parent...

Yeah, that's why I started to like it, see the previous posting. ;)

Thanks for the remarks, they all make sense.
