Pressing ESC in Synchronize directories sometimes failes
Pressing ESC in Synchronize directories will fail after selecting an item in the folder-/filelist
Re: Pressing ESC in Synchronize directories sometimes failes
Not confirmed.
Whatever I select ESC always leaves the sync screen.

UPS
I'll give you an example:
[left] c:\Windows\Resources\
[right] c:\Windows\Branding\
[Synchronize directories]
On my Win7 x64 PC I get:
Gefundene Dateien: 22 (Gleiche: 0, Verschieden: 0, Einzelne links: 18, Einzelne rechts: 4)
If I click on one of the blue or green arrows, this arrow will be deactivated.
And in addition, this click deactivates the [ESC key].

This is actually intentional: As soon as you change anything in the compare results, ESC gets disabled. The idea is that you don't close the compare dialog by accident after selecting many files manually.

OK that's the right behavior!
How about double ESC Or Ctrl-F4 to close?

You can always close it via Alt+F4, just like any Windows window (except CMD ).

That's VERY VERY VERY UNOBVIOUS! I've seen this bug many times and haven't found the reason until today! It should be really documented somehow...

Yes, I know. But only if the extended CMD of whatever it's called is enabled, which admittedly it is by default. But MS still hasn't bothered to implement and enable Ctrl+D hotkey to close such a "terminal" window until today, not even in PowerShell, although this exists and is the default on Linux since more than a decade (probably even longer). Well, MS still has to learn a lot (not just from Linux) ...

But I admit that it is pretty well hidden - 15 years back in the history... The current history.txt doen't even go that far back (only goes to 10.08.08).History.txt wrote: 30.03.03 Added: Synchronize dirs dialog can now be closed with ESCAPE as long as the user doesn't change the copy direction of any files!
