Search results block "Full" columns view

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Search results block "Full" columns view

Post by *dindog »

TC shows search results in "Full" columns view, but without displaying the "Date" "Size" & "Attr", it only shows the fullpath name in the first columns. And I can't switch to "Full" columns... nevertheless, I can switch "Brief" "Thumbnail" and any custom columns view... TC should name the search results columns view to another and let users switch to "Full" if they want, it's not Full anyways.

This isn't a bug, it's how it has been for many decades. There simply isn't enough space to show both the full path and all the details, so they are shown in the footer instead. You can use a custom columns view if you want to see just the names and details.

I'm not asking you to change the search result behavior.
I'm asking you to name the unique search column view another name.

So that will allow:
1. we can apply this view mode in non-search result. As you said, it would be handy when the file path is too long and show the other information in footer.
2. I don't have to assign another shortcut for a duplicate classic Full view.

please consider it, it's no harm.

yes, but you can still click on the "Date" "Size" & "Attr" to change the sort order of the Search result. With your approach, I would have to shift to Full view to do that.

I think the current approack where the current columns view (Brief, Full, Thumbs, Comments AND Custom) is used when fed to listbox is perfect.

There is even a special Auto switch mode (S), that you can use to switch to your own Custom colums view when you feed to listbox.

1. we can apply this view mode in non-search result.
Admitted - that you cannot do with the current implementation.
