Mouse back-button behaviour TC 9.5beta10

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Mouse back-button behaviour TC 9.5beta10

Post by *tm8544 »

On Windows Explorer, each mouse back-button click brings me back one step in folder hierarcy.
I would expect same behaviour (cm_GoToParent) on TC.

Now, on TC 9.5beta10, clicking mouse back-button brings me back one step on folder history, not on folder hierarchy.
(I have Logitech Mouse)

In Total Commander, the mouse back/forward buttons do the same as in a web browser: Go to previous/next directory in history.

TC is a file manager, not a web browser

What make you think that MS-Explorer does anything different than TC if using mouse-back/forward (or <Alt+Left>/<Alt+Right>)?

Could it be that your mouse software (Logitech) maps these mouse buttons to keystrokes different than the default <Alt+Left>/<Alt+Right>?

I tested it, so I know. See the first post.

You must have a different Explorer than here (W10, W7).
Just tested for you with a logitech mouse (performance mx) but without logitech software.

No.
In Windows Explorer back and forward GUI buttons move one step in history in corresponding direction. Mouse's special buttons do exactly the same, and this is consistent with IE.
