[9.5b11] Someting Wrong with crash

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

This happens when Total Commander tries to load a resource (here: an image) from its own exe file, but this fails because the exe file cannot be accessed. For example, this can happen when you start Total Commander from a network drive, and the server or network is temporarily inaccessible.

Strange, the only case where access was denied to the EXE was when a virus scanner was scanning it.

I tested it many times at home and found that the program crashed when reading data from the hard disk. My hard disk has a mechanical hard disk and an SSD. When the crash occurs, the sound of the mechanical hard disk is read. Maybe the mechanical hard disk is read by some programs Disturb, such as BT, etc. But other applications do not experience this crash.

Maybe your harddisk is dying? This can cause random read errors. I would check the vitality data of the harddisk with a tool like CrystalDiskInfo or SpeedFan.

In RC2, sometime TC read the disk long time and system do some lag, the crash did not appear. but somtime it comeback.

I'll follow this.

This really sounds like your harddisk has physical read errors! Your data is in immediate danger. You should make a backup immediately.

I think maybe I found the key with it.

I run the WallpaperEngineer -- a steam program that can use the movie replace the wallpaper --- with service, It conflict to lastest Windows 10 Inside
preview version. and it often refresh something in background and cause other problems.

First I think it only can not deal with the wallpaper, until I close it today. the TC keeps and do not crash 6 hours now.

Strange, this shouldn't cause disk read errors, just delays.

I thought that the error wouldn't cause by reading disk. maybe the app cause a display or system resource error and then let the TC go wrong.

when the app running, it cause my computer..
1. refresh the hardware monitor every 3~5 second,
2. when the TC run on top, the current file cursor also refresh.
3. the windows launcher bar preview windows closed after they displayed.
etc.

I thought that was a little hardware problem that time. After I close the service app, all the problems go out!!
