The settings do not remember the sorting positions in both panels (by name, etc.) in 9.51 (wincmd.ini).

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

The settings do not remember the sorting positions in both panels (by name, etc.) in 9.51 (wincmd.ini). That is, when loading settings, they are always in some other value.

What do you mean with "Sorting positions"? The sort order of the panels?

Maybe you unchecked something on
Configuration - Options - Operation - Save on exit?

Or the wincmd.ini cannot be written, e.g. due to being read-only or due to permissions.

When you install it again, the settings for the sorting of both panels are not picked up from wincmd.ini, they are always initially in the same position, although I save the settings and they are written, because most likely they are not there, or simply not read (here you should be aware).
During operation, they are saved, but at the first start they are not picked up from the settings file wincmd.ini.

Follow these steps:
1. Set up the sorting of both panels (let's say by name from A to Z = up arrow).
2. Save the commander settings (wincmd.ini).
3. Remove the commander.
4. Install the commander with settings pickup (wincmd.ini).
And then you will see that the sortings for the panels are not the same as they were when the settings were saved.

P.S. This is not a bug, this is a small flaw that does not interfere with the work :) when loading settings.
