wrong rename operation in batch rename process

Post by *Michael REMY »

hi !

i don't knwow wherever it is a translate error or a real bug.
when you do batch rename.
You have an option to rename all the files by uppercasing the first letter (in french : "1° lettre majuscule" which is also wrong and shoud be "1ère lettre majuscule")

Well, this operation goes wrong because when the first caracter in the string is a number and not a letter, them the first letter is not uppercased at all !

for example my file is "08 parachutiste.mp3"
The right opetation should rename it by "08 Parachutiste.mp3"

0 and 8 caracters are not ant letter, so the filter should read the next caracter to apply the uppercasing.

This bug longs since a very long time. As none noticed it yet, i guessed i have to !

after all this years, maybe i'm the only one who uses this feature...

have a good day and fun !

Try "first letter of each word uppercase" that's the last option in the menu.
Or use [n] placeholders for exact positioning of uppercase, if you want just the first word upper in a several word file.

i know it and use too but not for french files. i only need the first letter of the first real word who must be uppercased. and it works fine when there is no number/punctuation character in first position (whatever the language the bug is real so)

modifier means everything from here uppercase
[n] modifier means everything from here case as is (see help for more modifiers)

So, for that example, just enter in the filemask:
[N1-4][n][N5-]
