"Combine Files" uses wrong file set

Post by *MxxCon »

I have a set of log files broken down by day and counter
2011-02-01.001 ... 2011-02-01.450
2011-02-02.001 ... 2011-02-02.451
2011-02-03.001 ... 2011-02-03.452

If I press enter on 2011-02-01.001, TC will ask me if i want to combine this file and all ascending file names.
It will proceed to do that, but once it'll get to 2011-02-01.450, it'll continue to also grab 2011-02-02.451 and 2011-02-03.452
It looks like it doesn't consider different file names to be part of a different set..

However, if I rename files to 2011-02-01q and 2011-02-02q, it will work only with a correct file set.

That's because your numbering scheme isn't suitable for TC's combine function: It either needs fixed names and variable extensions, or fixed extensions and variable names, but not both.
