Lan Plugin (where is the SMB share mounted)

Post by *Alex_Porteus »

First: Your/the lan plugin module is awesome. Easy to conect via teh app.

My question: Is the share somewhere mounted where I can access it via terminal
(sshelper) and my device is unfortunately not rooted...

Best

No, unfortunately only the root user could mount file system paths. And even then, it couldn't be done with a user mode program. It would require a system driver for SMB connections.

Do I get it right that with TC LAN plugin, it is still not possible to mount SMB share? By mounting I mean not only accessing the SMB share with TC, but keeping it "alive" (mounted) so the other apps can see the share and access it.

Unfortunately it isn't possible for apps to mount a remote server into the file system. If your device is rooted, there are some ways to achieve this via samba client (command line).
