Delete current song from hard drive

Post by *JimmyTheBroker »

Hi Guys,

I'm wondering if there is a way (or if someone could create a button on the android) to delete the currently playing song completely off the android device.

Ie, I have been given a huge number of songs from other people, and I want a way that while I am playing everything, if I encounter a song I don't like, I can delete it from my android's hard drive quickly, without needing to find the song's directory and then delete the individual song.

Any help or tips would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Jimmy
I finally get notifications from emails again!!!

You can delete tracks under the following conditions:
1. They need to be in the regular file system, e.g. /storage/emulated/0 or /storage/1234-5678
2. You need to select the tracks by tapping on their icons, then the command is in the context menu

Hi Ghisler, what you've said is true.
I am storing my songs in /storage/emulated/0/playlist/../Music/Artist/Song
I then using .m3u files with strings of "../Music/Artist/Song" to open as playlists

2. You need to select the tracks by tapping on their icons, then the command is in the context menu
If I try removing songs this way, the next time I open that same playlist (.m3u file), all the removed songs are back again.

I remember that on my old phone I was able to make a button that would create an email with anything "ticked" as an attachment. I was hoping someone would be able to make a button that would delete a file from:
/storage/emulated/0/playlist/../Music/Artist/Song of whatever is playing currently.
I finally get notifications from emails again!!!
So happy!

If you have a song list in .M3U file and delete a song from file system, there is no way for TC to know that you also want to remove this song from a song list (which one, what if there are more than one, what if one doesn't want to fix list etc). Perhaps you should try to remove it within your MP3 player if it have such function.

You just need to save the play list after deleting or removing songs from it!
