Can't connect to a network share

Post by *moonrunner »

I've installed Lan plugin but I don't understand what's preventing TC from access a network share.

It's a samba share on a Linux open to all in my Wifi network. All Windows/android machines can map and use it. No user or pass.

I can map and use it with other android apps, Simple as IP, nothing more.

But TC.... what could be missing? I tested almost all possible combinations and no success.

1. How far do you get? Are you able to define a connection?
2. What error message do you get?
3. Have you tried using the IP address instead of the server name?
4. Does the Linux server restrict the SMB version? The lan plugin only supports SMB1 and SMB2, not SMB3.

Yep I can add a connection by IP/share
No username, no password.

Error is

STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED(3221225506
///LAN/connection name

You need to enter a user name and password. Without them, the plugin tries to access the resouce as user GUEST, but this returns an access denied error. Make sure the account has a password set, Windows doesn't allow access without a password.

Not windows. Is a Linux share. And no other apps or windows machines in the network have any problems connecting

Some users have reported that when they enter user name and/or password, some keyboards append a space to the end. Please double check that user name and password are really correct.
