Can't rename a file to dot ending

Can't rename a file to "file.", it just renames the file automatically to "file".

Dots at the end are not allowed. This isn't a Total Commander restriction.

File Manager Pro does allow it.
Root Explorer also.

It seems to depend on the file system: It works on certain devices in the internal file system /storage/emulated/0, but fails on external media like SD cards or USB sticks formatted with FAT32/exFAT.

Currently TC allows dots at the end only when creating new files. It also keeps them when copying. However, it removes them when renaming.

When doesn't work it's operating system limitation, not filesystem. On exFAT you can use dot ending (checked so works), on FAT32 didn't test. Android probably just blocks it to prevent breaking Windows, but on other OSes it works.
