LAN plugin shows also unshared drives

Post by *chandragor »

@ghisler

I searched around this forum and I wasn't able to find anything about it.
If I am wrong, please accept my apologies.

I'm using the latest version of TC for Android with the LAN plugin.
Whenever I create a connection to a PC, every drive and partition are listed,
even if there is no permission to access them (drive names end with $, i.e.: C$, D$ and so on).
There is also a folder named ADMIN$ which is not accessible too.

Is there any way to hide them from the list?
For example by filtering everything which ends with the dollar char ($) ?
You could implement a check in the configuration to set/reset this behaviour.

Thanks in advance.

These are so-called administrative shares. You need to connect with the admin account to access them. Unfortunately there is no way to determine whether the current user has the rights to access them or not.

No, unfortunately not. The ignore list currently doesn't work with plugins.

What about my suggestion to filter them by the fact that each administrative share ends by a $ (dollar char) ?

Just don't add them to the list of shares if they end that way. Isn't this possible ?

And by adding a check in the configuration of the connection, besides the other parameters like if SMB2 should be used,
the user can choose if that filter should be applied or not.

I was asked by other users to keep these administrative shares available. They CAN be used with the right user name and password...

That's why I asked for a checkbox in the configuration of each connection to enable/disable the feature,
just like the enable/disable SMB2 checkbox or the "Protect with master pass" checkbox.

That's a good idea, I will add it to my wish list.
