Renaming files with non-allowed characters fails without providing user feedback

Post by *Barkuti »

Recently installed this file browser in my rooted smartphone. Liking it.

However, while renaming a file using some special characters I noticed the file manager gives no clue of the problem to the user; coincidentally, I found user feedback in the Play Store reporting that this file manager was failing to rename files, so I guess that fellow was likely using some non-allowed special character by Total Commander.
Other file managers provide the user with some error reporting message, which is a lot better than silently refusing to work. For example, ES File Explorer PRO reports * \ / " : ? | < > as invalid file name characters. Guess this has to do with inter-platform name compatibility (Windows, Android, etc.).

Just to report this and hoping for it to serve to improve this software. :)
