S21 ultra some folders are shown twice

Post by *gery0518 »

The problem is pretty simple, some of my folders show up twice in total commander. The default file manager shows them only once. They are not duplicates since they dont take up twice the space. They are shown twice only in storage/emulated/0 directory. If i move them inside another directory they show up only once.

The default file manager does not show the content of /storage/emulated/0, it shows a virtual folder (android storage access framework SAF). Total Commander uses the older Java file functions to list files. I don't really see a reason why they would report the same folder twice, must be some kind of operating system bug. Please do not try to delete these fake duplicates, it would probably delete your real files.

Yeah, if I delete any of it, its deleted. The strange thing is that only like 4 folder is doing this. DCIM is one of them. If I move dcim and I make a photo, the camera app recreates DCIM folder, and it shows up twice again. 🤔 Well I will live with it untul samsung or google does something about it. Thanks for the reply!

Ps: could it be some interference with secure folder maybe?

Ah, that could be, there is a new feature to have a private folder.
