Pgup/Pgdn while editing a filename discards

Post by *Thany »

Rename a file inline. How: It's F2 for me, as it should be. Not sure if that's made the default yet, but otherwise just click a file twice.
Now change it to anything else. Don't hit enter yet! Stay in editing mode.
Now press Pgup or Pgdn.

Result: your edit will be silently discarded.

Expected: Either Pgup/Pgdn do nothing, or they goes to the beginning/end of the filename, or they commit the file rename like the Up/Down keys do. I don't really care much for the exact solution, as long as an edit is never silently discarded.

Why: when using the Home/End keys a lot to get to the start/end of a filename, the Pgup/Pgdn keys are easily pressed by accident. This is especially not cool when editing a particularly long filename.

Tested on TC 9.22a on Windows 10.
Total Commander 11 on Windows 10

None edit will be saved if the filename may go out of sight. It's been already discussed for mousewheel case:
In-place rename cancelled by mousewheel

Currently there are no plans to change this behaviour, sorry.
