[Feature Request] Enhancement of "Feed to listbox"

Post by *motix »

When using the search function and then selecting the "feed to listbox" button, TC puts all the found files in one of the windows.

2 things would be great!!

1. If it was possible to Toggle paths on/off. If you got a long path to the files, it's not possible to see the filenames.

2. Make the list "Stick", so I can return to the list whenever i need it, instead of doing a new search. It could be set as a virtual drive in the drive list - or something like that.

Besides that - I love TC!!

Try one of the temp drive/panel plugins (I saw 3 similar plugins). I don't know which one is the best.

I did try them all, but none of them seems to give me what I wanted. They all produce files that you can view, but none of them produce a result that can be directly manipulated via tc.

I might be wrong - So please guide me to the right plugin.

One more experiencing the same problem I think Christian this is subconsciously becoming the number 1 wish in the list! ;)

What functionality do you lack for?

Short test results:
F3, F4 works in all of them.
Enter works as well: TempPanel launches selected file, other two plugins lead you to the real file location.
Packing doesn't work in any plugin! :(
Two of the plugins (except tempfs by Tir Na Nog) remember collected files for the next TC session.
Create dir works in all of them but TempDrive by Igor Labutin crashes when trying to copy files to that dir.

But I was lazy enough to read their manuals. Excuse me if I put wrong info about some plugins due to misconfiguration.

2Valentino: Yes, you are right, but TempPanel can be switched to mode - goto file on Return, like Temp Drive.

BTW - all suggestions are wellcome!

How?! In readme (finally I collected all my will and read it :)) I found only one small sentence "added configuration dialog". Where a hell is it? :) How to call it?

BTW, your plugin's version info (Version tab in Properties) is quite funny :D...

Configuration dialog can be called by right-clicking on the Networkneighbourhood\Temporary Panel
and in menu selecting properties
*Like other plugins configurations.... :)

 Thanks. I tried Alt+Enter on everything but didn't try mouse... :) Is this mentioned in TC's help or somewhere? Why don't I know this "trick"? Maybe this should be mentioned in your readme.

Alt+Enter will work in TC 6.0. I had forgotten this in TC 5.5x, sorry.
