Right of files and dirs when moving

Post by *FJS »

When I move files/dirs between some dirs, they don't change his rights. Why?

Example:
moving file from Dir1 (with full access rights for Guest) to Dir2 (without rights for Guest). After moving, file HAS full access rights. But this only happens inside one drive. When I moving between two drives (e.g. c:\dir1 to d:\dir2) everything is O.K.

Is this bug in TC?

Maybe Help - Index - wincmd.ini - XPMoveMethod will help.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Did you check the option "Copy NTFS permissions" in Rename/Move dialog?
And don't forget: permissions can be inherited.
