suggestion: connecting to Midnight Commander server (Linux)

Post by *avgasse »

I've seen a topic here about porting TC to Linux. I have a related but different suggestion.

As some of you know, Linux has a text-based Commander-clone called Midnight Commander, bringing you Permian memory flashes...

There is also something called mcserv:
DESCRIPTION

mcserv is the server program for the Midnight Commander networking file system. It provides access to the host file system to clients running the Midnight file system (currently, only the Midnight Commander file manager).
How about adding this functionality to TC? For example you have 2 machines, one is a Linux box which you use as webserver, ftpserver, firewall, etc and the other a WinXP which you use for your daily dose of Quake fraggin'
Wouldn't it be kewl if you could administer the Linux box from your WinXP box using a TC connection to a MC service?

Hey, who knows somebody may already have written a TC plugin to do this! 8)
