Map network drive

Post by *robinsiebler »

It would be nice if I could right click on a folder and have 'Map as Network Drive' appear on the context menu. I would even settle for making a button that would do this. How would I go about this?

Configuration / Options / Operation / Mouse selection mode - If you have selected "Left mouse button" - it should work as you want. Doesn't it?

I don't see any option to map the selected/highlighted folder as a network drive. Do you?

When you choose the option I described above, you should get the typical context menu - like in windows explorator (after restarting TC of course).
When I click on any network folder I get in the context menu typical "Map as Network Drive"

My context menu also does not show the "Map as Network Drive" entry for network folders.

That would indeed be a good addition to the context menu.

Perhaps that feature is a 3rd-party context menu add-in, and not an Explorer feature????

It's strange, I've tried it on WinXP Pro, WinNT and Win98 on to different networks and... it works.
Win98 wokstations was 'clear' - there was only Win98 and TC installed on it.

On my Windows 2000 SP4 TC 5.51 behaves exactly as djk wrote, but there is another irritating difference between the context menu of TC and the Windows Explorer. After applying the command 'Copy to Clipboard' (Ctrl+C, cm_CopyToClipboard) the command 'Paste Shortcut' is missing in the context menu of TC! Why :?:

This is not necessary - in righ mouse button mode, just hold down the button a bit longer to show the menu!

The 'map drive' option doesn't seem to exist when a user isn't logged in as admin, perhaps this is the problem?

I have no idea - TC gets this menu from Windows, via OLE2. I don't know why Windows should leave out this menu item...
