The problem is, that the enviroment variable %ProgramFiles% has been introduced in Windows 2000. It's typically not set in old windows versions.

Follow this link to get informations which environment variable is set by default on which operating system version:

As Gingo said: "Program Files" in swedish XP is just "Program" - but guess what "Documents and Settings" is called... It is called "Documents and Settings" !!!! And that is absolutele NOT swedish (as you may guess)! - Again "MS can't be consequent! :lol:

Absolutly not because on French & Dutch version it's also called Program Files .... MS Logic

As told by j.x the installer can use the environment variable %ProgramFiles% (on 2k & xp don't know for the others)

Look at 'ProgramFilesDir' in [HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion].
